New Look for the New Year
November 27, 2008
Maybe it’s high time you get a fresh start with a fresh set of business cards, a fitting project in preparation for the coming year. If your old set of business cards was your first batch, it was most likely traditional looking: the typical 2” x 3.5” card with your logo and contact details printed in a few colors against a white background, or whatever the color of the stock is.
Out with the old and in with the new
There are plenty of ways to modify the look of your business card, even if it’s the standard 2” x 3”.
1. Orientation
Conventional business cards follow the horizontal layout which provides a wide width space. In recent years however, more people are experimenting with the vertical orientation which emphasizes the height of the card. This design direction has certainly given business card holders more options to create a different look which helps their business cards stand out.
2. Colors
Full color prints are now available at very affordable prices. And this is not just the texts. You can create a business card design that covers the whole area of the card, both front and back. You can even have your picture printed on it and with good quality.
By printing on both sides, you automatically increase the space you can utilize to give more information about you and your services. Also, by including the back panel, you can upgrade the function of your business card. It may also serve as an appointment or referral card.
3. Die cut
Thinking of how to get those rounded corners for your cards? Die cutting is the solution. You can ask your printer about your die cut options to get a better idea of the specs and prices for such custom jobs.
One of the biggest advantages of the current business cards is their cost. You can get wholesale prints of, say, a thousand copies and get very low unit prices. Imagine getting 30 business card pieces in less than a dollar.
.
Reward yourself with an accessory to last the year through. Let these business cards open opportunities for you. See where they will take you — the possibility of a new career, new colleagues or maybe even a new annual income bracket.
